A Feast of Divertimenti

It's time to party like it's 1779 as the new Beloit Janesville Chamber Ensemble offers an evening of light classical works in a form of music that Mozart pretty much invented. He wrote 37 of these charming "divertimenti" for various groupings of instruments. They were intended for all sorts of social functions such as after-dinner soirees, alfresco picnics, and for serenading lovers from beneath the balcony on their "name day." In this case, our newest ensemble entertains you as you enjoy a concert, "in the round," accompanied by an 18th century spring picnic.
