Lincoln-Tallman House

The premier structure in Janesville's outstanding collection of Victorian homes. From the domestic areas in the basement, elegant drawing rooms, bedrooms, and dining rooms, to the servants' quarters, attic and cupola, the Lincoln-Tallman House reflects the lifestyle of the wealthy in the mid 19th Century. Significant as the only private residence in Wisconsin where Abraham Lincoln slept, the Tallman House is a highlight of any trip. Guided tours by trained docents inform visitors of its unique architectural features, the Tallman family and Abraham Lincoln's 1859 visit.
