Celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the library with a book talk from Wisconsin author Kayrn Saemann. Karyn will be sharing stories from her research she gathered to write the book Electa Quinney: Stockbridge Teacher. Electa became Wisconsin’s very first public school teacher, educating the children of Stockbridge-Munsee Band of the Mohican Indians as well as the sons and daughters of nearby white settlers and missionaries. Karyn will also share stories and information that she discovered during her journey that did not make it into the book. This book is part of the Badger Biographies Series and has received the Moonbean Children's Book Awards.
