Creepy fun for the fearless awaits at this new tour of the Oakhill Cemetery – in the dark. Admission includes the use of lanterns, a tour filled with burial stories, and a Rock County Historical Society wine glass keepsake. Bring it to RCHS for a free wine or beer. Tour-goers will be led by local history experts sharing stories about accidental burials, grave robbing, grave digging, funeral customs and more. Tours focus on folklore and burial customs throughout history, with special emphasis on Victorian-era traditions from England, Ireland, and Germany. Buy your tickets online now, as each tour is limited to 35 people. Choose from two tour dates, with one hour tours offered at 8, 9, and 10 PM each night. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather as it can be cold and rainy in October. Tours will be canceled only if there is lightning. This tour is educational in nature and is not a haunted experience. Oak Hill is a working cemetery. All headstones, mausoleums, and burial plots should be treated with respect.
