Basketball, Volleyball, Combat, Cheer/Gymnastics, and Indoor Sports

The Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center can provide up to 6 basketball courts and 8 volleyball courts, and host other indoor sports like wrestling, gymnastics, and more. The Janesville YMCA has 4 basketball courts and 3 volleyball courts. The Janesville School District has 2 high schools and 3 middle schools with a total of 11 basketball courts and 11 volleyball courts. El-Ra Bowl and RiversEdge Bowl offer a combined 40 lanes, both with restaurants on site.

Water Sports

Bank First Stadium in Traxler Park is a world-class venue for water ski and water sport tournaments, featuring bleacher seating, concession stand, electronic scoreboard, PA system, meeting room, press box, parking for 2,000 vehicles, seating for 4,000, and restrooms.

Ice

Home to the Janesville Jets hockey team of the NAHL, the Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center includes a main arena with seating for 1,500 spectators, a multi-purpose arena with seasonal ice and 250 spectator capacity, expansive locker rooms, restrooms, and concessions. Hockey tournaments and figure skating competitions can be held year-round.

Golf & Disc Golf

Janesville offers 2 municipal golf courses: the 18-hole Riverside Golf Course which hosts the annual WPLA Ray Fischer Amateur Championship, and the 9-hole Blackhawk Golf Course. Additional courses in Rock Co. include Glen Erin, Bass Creek, Prairie Woods, Krueger Haskell, Coachman’s Golf Resort, Edgerton Towne Country Club, Oak Ridge, Cecelia’s, and Janesville Country Club. Disc golf is well represented, with an 18-hole course at Lustig Park and an 18-hole course at Riverside Park.

Soccer

The Janesville Youth Sports Complex boasts 10 soccer fields with lighting, concessions, restroom pavilion, picnic shelter and 900 stall parking area. In addition, the Janesville School District features 7 soccer fields. The Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center’s Multi-Purpose Arena can be set up as a soccer field with indoor turf and spectator seating for 250.

Softball/Baseball

The Janesville Youth Sports Complex offers 6 baseball and 4 softball fields, lighted with covered dugouts, 3 concession stands, restroom pavilion, picnic shelter, and 900 parking stalls. The Pat Dawson Softball Complex is a four-plex facility with lights, scorer’s booth, concession stand, restrooms and off-street parking. The Janesville School District allows use of their facilities, including 5 softball diamonds and 2 baseball diamonds. Riverside Stadium in Riverside Park has a baseball diamond with press box.

Pickleball & Tennis

The Jim Clark Memorial Pickleball Courts at Riverside Park offer 12 dedicated pickleball courts. The Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center can provide up to 21 indoor pickleball courts. The privately-owned Janesville Athletic Club features 3 indoor pickleball courts. City parks offer 9 outdoor lighted tennis courts and the Janesville School district has additional outdoor tennis courts.

Football & Lacrosse

Monterey Stadium features a football field, track, lights, locker rooms, press box, concession stand and restrooms. The Janesville Youth Sports Complex boasts 4 regulation size lighted football fields with concessions, restroom pavilion, picnic shelter and 900 stall parking area. The Janesville School District offers an additional 7 football fields. Optimist Community Park is often used by LaCrosse teams.

Curling

The Blackhawk Curling facility at the Rock County Fairgrounds features 3 sheets of ice with ample seating in the club room and viewing lounge.

Mountain Biking, Trail Running & Other Trail Events

Janesville has 30+ miles of paved, off-road trails throughout the city, used for biking, running, walking, and rollerblading. Palmer Urban Mountain-Bike Park (PUMP) is a 35-acre mountain bike/BMX bike park with flow and progressive trails in the southern part of Palmer Park. These off-road trails include areas for beginners as well as more advanced riders, a dirt pump track, and a mountain biking skills area. Rockport Park also offers 7 miles of mountain biking trails. The Robert O. Cook Memorial Arboretum offers miles of dirt trails perfect for trail running.
