Sterling North was the author of the beloved children's book and Disney film "Rascal," an autobiographical story about raising a raccoon in the Edgerton area in the early 1900s. His childhood home and barn have been turned into a museum and literary center. Guided school and group tours available, and a gift shop features books, clothing and collectibles. Rascal has become an immensely popular icon in Japan thanks to a cartoon series in the 1970s.
