This is the play that has its genesis in the events of the famous Scopes Trial, formally known as The State of Tennessee v. John Thomas and also referred to as the Scopes Monkey Trial. This case took place in July 1925, where a substitute high school teacher, John T. Scopes, was accused of violating Tennessee's Butler Act, which made it unlawful to teach human evolution in any state-funded school. Presented by Stage One, Inc. Performances Friday & Saturday, October 12, 13, 19 & 20 at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, October 14 & 21 at 2 PM.
