The Janesville Art League, in partnership with the Rock County Historical Society, began this community art project by greeting our frontline workers at Mercy Hospital with hand painted signs placed in the RCHS lawn facing the hospital. The project expanded to SSM St Mary's Hospital, and has continued to grow! One, two, and four-foot hearts and other signs are popping up by the police and fire stations, Bessie the Cow, Kiwanis Park, and throughout downtown. Painters of all ages and cash or material donations are invited to contact Tim Maahs at the Rock County Historical Society.

Through midnight September 6, participate in a family friendly scavenger hunt, sharing your selfies with the hearts on the Heart Hunt Facebook event page (including the #heartartjvl hashtag, with a 'public' setting) to be entered in a drawing for prizes. The more photos you share, the more entries you get! Click here to see a Google map of all the heart locations.
