From undergarments to bonnets, this presentation will explore the world of fashion at the time of the American Civil war. Kathleen Holbrook will discuss the many layers that made up a Civil War era dress, and how each layer had a unique purpose to help construct the desired silhouette. She will also discuss the challenges of recreating historically accurate Civil War dresses in today's world.This 45-minute presentation will take place during our during the Civil War Living History Days Event.
