The Rock County Council on Aging presents Wednesday Walks, which provide opportunities for individuals 55+ to exercise while enjoying places of interest. Get to know the people, places, and history of the Rock County area. Walks last 60-90 minutes.  Click here to download the brochure, including descriptions of each walk.
Walk Dates/Locations:
June 22: ABC Supply Stadium Tour: Tour the Beloit Sky Carp's new stadium.
June 29: Kelch Aviation Museum: Stunning vintage aircraft brings the Golden Age of Aviation to life.
July 13: Nature at the Confluence: Explore prairie restoration, trails, learning, and pollinator gardens with naturalist Dave Bendlin.
July 27: Beloit College's Art & Anthropology Museums
August 3: Lincoln-Tallman House: This historic Janesville home once hosted U.S. President Abraham Lincoln.
August 10: Timber Hill Winery: Take a tour with the winemaker herself and learn the process of wine making. A reservation for this walk is required.
August 24: Rotary Botanical Gardens: The Gardens feature 26 different garden areas and more than 4,000 plant varieties.
August 31: Disc Golf at Palmer Park: This event will provide disc golf instruction and practice. Led by instructor Brian Hoppe. Group will meet at the Palmer Park East Pavilion near the corner of Palmer Dr. and Mohawk Rd.
September 14, 6 PM: Sunset Photography at Magnolia Bluff: Photographer David Abb will demonstrate techniques and skills to take breathtaking photos. This is an evening event so you can take beautiful sunset photos.
September 28: Janesville Schools Outdoor Lab (JSOL): This walk is led by Naturalist David Bendlin. See the area's local trees, plants, birds, and wildlife.
October 5: Skelly Farm Market: Enjoy a self-guided tour through the market. Walk the maze with the group, shop, or enjoy a cider on the patio.
October 12: Carver-Roehl Park: Rock County Lead Nature Specialist Jim Hessenauer will lead you in an easy to moderate hike where you can observe beautiful Fall colors.
